Our Dispensary
Our Dispensary
As a rural practice some distance from the nearest dispensing pharmacy, Eden provides a dispensing service to local patients from dispensaries located at both surgeries. The Practice policy is to make prescriptions available for collection within 72 hours* of submission.
*
repeat prescriptions that require renewal or are subject to a medication review by an Eden Clinician may take a little long
er.
If you live more than 1 mile from your nearest pharmacy you can choose to be either a
dispensing patient
and collect prescriptions from us, or become a
non-dispensing patient
who collects from an independent pharmacy.
If you live within 1 mile of a pharmacy, or live outside of the Practice catchment area, you cannot choose to be a dispensing patient.
As a Dispensing Patient
Your prescription will be dispensed at one of our two dispensaries for you to collect in person. Dispensary opening times vary, so please
check the times here
Our Practice policy is to turn all prescriptions around within 72 hours, and you will receive a SMS when your prescription is ready to collect.
As a Non-Dispensing Patient
We use the NHS Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS) to either send your prescription to your nominated dispensing pharmacy, or provide an e-token for you to present at a pharmacy of your choice.
...It's your Choice
If you live more than 1 mile from a dispensing chemist, its your choice whether to become a dispensing or non-dispensing patient. Please select at the point of registration, or speak to our reception team to change your preference.
